I ordered the linguine with clam sauce and clam chowder. I had it delivered. I had a friend over for lunch. The food was exquisite. The cost was for excellent food. Nothing fishy, only delicious food. It was perfect for lunch with a good long term friend.
I think we have been eating here since they opened. It is consistently fresh & delicious. I dont know how they fry their fish & fries but its never greasy. By far the best seafood in Nassau LI Staff & owner are always pleasant & helpful. Will be eating here for many more years

This place has been where it is since I can remember and before that. When your restaurant is a world known Fried Seafood landmark you better be good and they are great. Originally operated as a small restaurant with stools around the kitchen counter. Expanded into an enclosed space outside the original building. Started with world famous fried clam strips app. Followed with absolutely delicious crab cake sandwich, side of Cole slaw. Shrimp sandwich was perfection. Skipped soup this trip because it's a meal in itself. Trust me when I tell you that you never had clam chowder like Bigelow's. Here's a tip for you- Regardless of what you select- order the fries on the side! Plenty of sauces served with your menu items. Parking on premises or nearby streets. Do it now! Avoid the long waits during the summer months.
I went during lunch on a weekday and there was plenty of tables and spots for parking. Ordered the clam strips and clam chowder. The clam strips had a crisp fried batter on the outside and tender meat in the inside. I've never had fried clams before but I'm a fan now! These things are huge too! You can choose between fries or coleslaw as your side. I opted for fries and even those didn't disappoint. Similar to the clam strips, the fries are nice and crisp with a fluffy inside. You also get a side of lemons, cocktail sauce, and tarter sauce to dress your clams if that's what you're into. The clam chowder is thick and creamy. One of my favorite clam chowders I've ever had. A cup is shareable if you're getting an entree. It comes out to you overflowing. The service was great! The staff is attentive and friendly. The owner was really nice and personable. We talked about our dogs and what other great food spots are in the area. 10/10 :)

I usually have a few "go to" seafood restaurants on Ling Island that I go to, but decided to give Bigelow's a shot because it's a little more convenient for me to get to. Well boy am I glad I did. The food was fresh and tasty. The buffalo shrimp was interesting and delicious. Can't forget about the lobster Rolland fried clams too. The atmosphere was great as well. A great seafood restaurant that's definitely on my list to go again!
The closest thing to a good new england seafood shack you will find on nassau county. Chowder, fried clams, crab cakes and lobster rolls are all solid. Online ordering process is managed well. Small parking lot out front.
Sometimes the craving strikes for a good New England clam chowder. When you happen to be in Long Island for a wedding, what better reason to scope out local spots and try a new place than after the wedding that day? So after doing some searching, Bigelow's came up and the reviews seemed consistent and solid. When we pulled into the location, it definitely had a seafood shack type of vibe (plus the parking lot was full, another good sign). We got a New England Clam Chowder to go and I tried it in the car! It was everything I was looking for and I was so happy. It was creamy, thick, chunky and had plenty of clams! Other friends asked us to buy some for them and after I vetted it, I happily complied. We only tried their NE clam chowder but I'd go back to get their soup again in a heartbeat if we're in the area again. I'd also be up for trying other things on their menu since they had a lot of other seafood options. Check it out if you're in the area! If you're a fan of NE clam chowder, you won't be disappointed.
